The ladies of Chroma Home
I have been a seeker of beauty as long as I can remember–beauty in nature, in fabrics and clothes, in spaces, in nourishing dishes, in words, and in people. When I don’t design homes I have fun drawing, knitting, sewing, writing, and making crafts with different materials. Gardening has become a new passion. And I find great joy cooking healthy meals from scratch for my family and friends.
I imaginatively designed my first home when I was 7. I loved to cut out pictures of beautiful rooms and keep them in a box to have them handy when I grew up. Another fond memory is playing in the streets with other kids and having a burning desire to see past the walls of every house and apartment into the rooms. When I was invited to a home with my family, I would zone out of the conversation and move furniture around with my imagination, so I could make the place look better.
I have been practicing residential interior design since 2001, though my experience in the textile and design industry spans from my late teens back in my native Greece to the present in Florida.
I grew up in the textile and linen world through my family’s business and later on I expanded into the furniture industry where I took much training and extensive specialty courses. I am CQRID certified and a professional member of the Interior Design Society (IDS).
My style, which is strongly influenced by my travels around the world, is soulful, creative, full of color and emphasizes harmony and balance. My projects show the artistry of combining an eclectic mix of contemporary and the timeless classic.
Besides Art and Design, for the past 25 years, I have been a student of the Healing Arts and Self Development field and I have helped people in one-on-one sessions and in small groups. Over the years I have practiced and taught Yoga, Meditation, Energy Healing, Natural Childbirth, Shiatsu Massage, and Feng Shui and I am a certified Life Coach by the International Coaching Academy in Australia.
Chroma Home is my newly inspired design platform where I create soulful interiors and share my love for beauty and harmony. I am a firm believer that homes are healing grounds if you treat them so. In my practice, I daily witness people’s transformation on many levels. In essence, I act as an agent of those changes in both their inner and outer worlds, and that’s very rewarding.
My mission and contribution to the world are changing lives by changing people’s surroundings into Everyday Getaways!
I have been a creative soul beginning in my early elementary school days. What started as simple after school art classes with my friends for fun, turned into a slow progression of creative self discovery. I continued to draw and paint, sharpening my talent throughout high school. I then went on to study two years of graphic design at Chapman University, giving me a flavor of how to manipulate art in the digital space.
Some of my early 20’s ventures have been competing in bodybuilding competitions, diving into health and wellness and also discovering a deeper spiritual side. I became both a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) through World Coach Institute at the age of 25 in the pursuit of helping others alleviate their stress through self-care practices.
Some of my loves outside of art and design are cooking, baking, fitness, health and wellness, reading, going to the beach and spending time with family. My ideal relaxing scenario is sitting at home with a glass of red wine watching Friends re-runs.
I have come back to focus on art and design where my talents and passions have been calling me. My style is transitional, generally consisting of a neutral tones with hints of color pop and pattern for added character. Being my family’s background, my designs are also greatly influenced by Greek culture. So although I am drawn to simplicity, I’m not afraid of big and bold designs concepts.
Joining Chroma Home, I have witnessed so much transformation that’s led me to believe that a home is really a reflection of who we are. Not just our style/taste but how we walk in this life. I truly believe that without a home to be proud of and comfortable in, it’s nearly impossible to live in organization and peace. I personally have more flow in my own life when my home environment is in sync with who I am and what I need. When my home is put together and brings me joy is when I do my best work, is when I feel most comfortable enjoying that glass of red wine on the sofa with a movie, and is when I am most proud to cook/entertain for family and friends. Home is the place we need to be the most in love with, so why not make it that Everyday Getaway!
